Organise Your Body

So we are well into the swing of 2019 and the ambition of the new year weight loss seems a distant memory for most! I promised myself that I would look after myself this year so I fully intend to keep going.

I have never really been one for counting calories. It seemed to be a pointless task that I wouldn't stick to...until I tried it! This week I looked at what I ate and how much exercise I completed. I used the Organise Happy Calorie tracker. Let's see how I got on...

Monday

I am tired and am really not feeling Monday. I have a big meeting this morning after I send Max off on the school bus. I shove a low fat yogurt down my neck before running out the door. At least I ate something for breakfast...

I didn't make myself lunch so I end up getting a chicken curry from the canteen. It wasn't the best thing I have ever eaten but I finished it to save me from snacking on everything in sight later. Dinner consisted of 2 chicken fajita wraps and I was quite content and no further snacking occurred!

Tuesday

Another run out the door morning. I really enjoy getting up early and being ready for the day but recently my body has been screaming at me for more sleep in the mornings. I should definitely eat better food and sleep more. Another yogurt for breakfast. It is pancake day. My son loves the pre-packed chocolate crepes you can but so I scoff one of those mid morning. Lunch is a meal deal on the run, sweet chilli chicken wrap with crisps and a multivitamin drink. My son and I have started doing a 20 minute mini trampoline exercise video twice per week so we do that after school. Dinner is Cajun chicken with rice and broccoli with a glass of red wine and of course, another pancake!

Wednesday

I have more time this morning so I opt for granola with Greek yogurt. Lunch is mushroom and pepper quiche with salad. Tonight is bingo night with the girls and there isn't much time to get anything before I go, so vegeburger and chips it is whilst I am there. For the record, I didn't win anything...

Thursday

Granola again today, I really enjoy it but its not the best! Half a cheese and pickle sandwich on the go again for lunch and then a pre-packed steak stroganoff for dinner. This week seems to be pretty hectic. I am a huge fan of home cooked meals and we seem to be failing this week. I am OK with it since we usually don't do this but I probably chose the wrong week to record!!

Friday

I opted for a yogurt again this morning as I knew it would be a heavy day. Lunch was baked fish, chips and peas and I went out for dinner as it was a colleagues last day at work. We had Italian so it was a creamy pasta dish followed by at least 2 bottles of prosseco and then a ridiculous amount of Gin & Tonics!

Saturday

What a write off! It all started just after midnight when I was drunk as a skunk and thought it would be a good idea to go to the 24 hour McDonalds on the way home. A quarter pounder with cheese meal later I was home and passed out in bed. The next thing I knew was I woke up around 7am and thought that I was dying. A good old fashioned hangover! I should know better at my age. Again, not the best week to record but hey, this is real...and honest! Hangover cures were had all day in the form of an entire chocolate orange, a massive share bag of crisps, 2 chocolate muffins as well as lunch and dinner...whoops!

Sunday

Today I feel much better. I was up early cleaning and I have started the day with lots of water and have taken some multivitamins. A roast dinner with a huge variety of veg awaits and today is also trampoline day with Max. Yesterday was a disaster but I wont be doing that again in a hurry! What a week!

Summary

I really should have picked a different week as this is not an ideal week to shout about. I am, however, a huge advocate of being honest and realistic! We are all trying our best and sometimes, just sometimes, stuffing a quarter pounder with cheese meal into your face whilst steaming drunk in the early hours of a Saturday morning is ok.....just don't do it all the time! :)

A very honest tracker....

I absolutely love the honesty in this post! It has encouraged me to try the food diary myself x
